assignment 4
Heather should tell Laura that she needs to stop smoking and drinking. Also that she needs to start eating healthier and exercising even if it is just for a little bit each day. Laura has to realize that she is caring for two now and not just herself. She also needs to take responsibility for this. Heather should explain the dangers of smoking and drinking while pregnant. Heather should also help Laura as much as possible because Laura is probably scared even though she won't show it or tell anyone.

You made a good point. She is most likely scared and going through a stage of denial. She finds that drinking and smoking comfort her and doesn't know how to deal with the stress. She hasn't yet come to the realization that she's pregnant and there is no changing it.
i agree she is scared, anyone would be! i think laura has the best chance of helping her sister realize her behavior is dangerous bc of the closeness they have as sisters.
I did not think about her being scared when i first read the post. I think that is a good point. But I agree with what you said about reaching out to her and helping her through it.
