assignment 2

I have two brothers, one that is two years younger and one that is four years younger. I have always been closer to the older of the two probably because of the age difference. My oldest brother and I have always had more similar interests; hunting, fishing, sports, reading and science whereas my youngest brother was more into video games, computers, social studies and politics. My youngest brother looks less similar to my older brother and I as well. He is heavier with smaller facial structures, finer hair and lighter skin whereas we are more slender with very similar facial structer, course hair and darker skin. My brothers and I are different socially as well while my brothers shared the same group of friends, my oldest brother and I are more reserved and introverted where as the youngest is very outgoing and social. The physical traits (minus body size) are genetically based. the difference in body size could be related to the activity choices. The difference in social habits could be attributed to birth order and exposure to older children throughout childhood.

I think you're right that birth order can affect some aspects of personality. Literature on birth order affects is very interesting and usually seems fairly accurate.

I also think that birth order can affect some personality traits since a lot of recent literature is supporting this theory. As far as physical traits, that is obviously genetic with your youngest brother inheriting what seems to be a recessive gene. And his personality, I think that can be social, as most younger siblings are often more outgoing than their older brothers or sisters.
