assignment 7

One of the most frustrating and difficult tasks that I had to learn as a child was tying my shoes. My parents and I worked together on this tasks for what seems like eternity. They were always very supportive of me and gave me loads of encouragement (Motivation). They even sang me silly little songs that were meant to help me to remember the process (Guidance). Sadly, I never truly learned to tie my shoes like most everyone else does. I guess I was just way too stubborn to learn the normal way because I'd found my own way that worked well enough for me (ZPD). To this day, I still tie my laces using the process my parents dubbed "bunny ears."

My parents first taught me to tie my shoes the bunny ears way. I didn't learn any other way until I was older.

this is a great example of Vygotsky's theory on children's cognitive development.

I thought that it was a good point to mention that creating little songs to learn new material can be a very helpful tool. I still use this as a senior and I am happy that I learned to use this at a young age. I feel in order to help someone learn new material you first have to make it fun for them, and this method helps that.

Tying my shoes was difficult as well. My parents kinda helped me but it was my brother who really guided me and motivated me to tie them correctly.
