I would like to do a study on students who play sports and students who don't and the grade difference
I would like to study students in high school to see if there is a difference in grades between student's who play sports, and those that do not play sports. My hypothesis is that students that play sports might have better grades then those who don't. The only reason I think this though is because when you play a sport you have to have certain grades to play and also might have study halls that are mandatory, but I could be completely wrong with this and there might not even be a difference in the grades. I would use a longitudinal study, and try and find students in each class that play sports and don't and study them through out their high school years. You would need to check on the students grades before and after a season. Look at both groups and see what their grades look like.

I agree with everything that you are saying. I was an athlete myself in high school and two years of college. There are certain rules and grades that we had to follow. And if there was one grade that was low we were not allowed to play in a game or in practice. There were also study halls every morning before classes. I liked it because it made me keep up my grades and made me go to class everyday. Although there were some kids that were not athletes and they had good grades as well.
I agree with your post. It seems like the students that are in sports have strong goals and achievements they have set for themselves, making them more into school so they can do good in sports. I have also seen studies on the more physical activity you do the better test scores and concentration were in the classroom. Seems very interesting.
