There currently are some that claim that through science, specifically genetic enhancement or genetic therapy, we can not only increase the longevity and reduce the chances of disease, but create the next Lebron James, Michael Phelps or Brad Pitt. Beyond the basic ethical questions and controversy surrounding this type of genetic altering, I look to prove that genetic enhancement can predetermine many traits of an offspring through a case study. The independent variable for this study would be specific genes that are target for alteration. The dependent variable would be the traits of the study offspring that are associated with the genes that were altered.
